Rescued Piglet With a Case of the Zoomies Is Making Everybody Smile
If you're looking for something to brighten your day, this video that Uncle Neil's Home shared on Instagram recently is it! The video features a piglet named Baby Tootsie—who is absolutely adorable, by the way—with a case of the zoomies, and I bet you'll watch it more than once!
In the video, we find Baby Tootsie in the living room with the family, and she's full of energy. She's doing zoomies in the kitchen, around the couch, and even in the hallway. I got tired just watching her! Make sure your sound is on so that you can hear the tiny little noises she makes as she zooms around the house!
It's official! I need a pet pig now who will do zoomies in my kitchen! Fans of Uncle Neil's Home adored the video as much as I did and had some funny things to say. @katthestampede wondered, "Are chickens teaching her how to talk? Because she kind of sounds like a chicken LOL!" and @debbiemarack asked, "Are those real snorts?!" @sspvsp22 pointed out, "The cat is like what the heck are you doing!" and @regatron1 added, "OMGOSH I HAVE NEVER SEEN PIG ZOOMIES!!!" And I agree with @fluffy.butt.rescue who shared, "I don’t think I’m going to get anything done today. I’m just going to watch her over and over again!"
Do Pigs Make Good Pets?
Now that we all want a pet pig, you might be wondering if pigs make good pets. I thought I'd share a few reasons why you might actually consider bringing one home. I know a handful of people who have had pet pigs, and they liken having a pig in the house to having a dog in the house. They're extremely intelligent, social, love to cuddle, get along well with other animals, and, like Baby Tootsie, are entertaining to have around!
You might be wondering if pigs can be potty trained, and the answer is yes. You can train them to use a litter box and they actually learn very quickly. You can teach them different tricks and commands, much like dogs. Also like dogs, they are extremely loyal and become very attached to their humans. And while I mentioned pigs get along well with other animals, a pig and dog might not make the best pet combination since dogs are natural predators of pigs.
Pigs are hypoallergenic, which is a selling point for many people who are allergic to animals. Although they get a bad rap for being dirty, surprisingly, pigs are actually very clean animals and with regular baths, they aren't stinky.
Pigs do require some room to play and run around, so you do have to have a yard for them to exercise in. They also need somewhere to root; a natural behavior that all pigs do to look for food, to cool off, and even as a source of comfort. Unless you want them rooting in your carpet, they'll need someplace to do it outside.
A pet pig isn't for everybody, but I think it's safe to say that most of us enjoy watching videos of other peoples' pet pigs. They're very fun to watch!
