Ryan Reynolds Confesses to Unconventional Sleeping Arrangement With Wife Blake Lively and 4 Kids

Parenting is hard—and that's something Ryan Reynolds isn't shying away from talking about. In a recent interview with the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the Deadpool and Wolverine star opened up about his and wife Blake Lively's current sleeping arrangement, a topic that has been significantly affected by living in a home with their four young children.

While chatting with host Amanda Hirsch, Reynolds was asked about "any updated dad advice" he could offer after welcoming his fourth child last year. After making a light-hearted joke about challenging himself on how "absent" he can be, he switched gears to answer more seriously, explaining, "Right now, I think it's just embrace this chaos." He added, "Nothing's gonna be like, tidy, ever again, when you walk in. Yes, it will, though, when they all leave the house."

Reynolds continued to draw on these sentiments, mentioning that "Blake always says, 'They're all under our roof right now. The whole family is under our roof right now. We have them all,' and like, that is a fleeting thing." In fact, the couple—who've been married since 2012—seemingly doesn't even get the opportunity to sleep next to each other at home, a situation many parents of young kids can relate to. The actor admitted his children "can't even fall asleep unless they're in our bed."

"As much as I wanna say I would love to spread out and fall asleep normally, I sort of..." he said, before Hirsch cut in joking, "You'll do that, when you're Hugh's [Jackman] age." "That's true, God-willing," Reynolds responded comically.

Still, he offered encouragement for fellow caregivers of little ones, acknowledging that sometimes, the pressure of parenting "does get to you," which is "okay." "That's gonna happen every other day, but if you can just think about like, what you would give in 40 years or 30 years to come back and enjoy this one moment," the IF star added.

Reynolds' candidness about the challenges of parenting and the unconventional sleeping arrangements he and Lively have adopted highlights the often chaotic but deeply rewarding nature of raising a family. His words serve as a reminder that while parenting can be overwhelming, cherishing these fleeting moments is crucial.
